Japanese millet or Barnyard milletMany small pet birds like budgies appreciate  Japanese millet (Echinochloa frumentacea) which is also-called Barnyard millet. Due to its slightly triangle-like shape it reminds a bit of tiny buckwheat seeds but it is much smaller. Japanese millet is soft and can easily be eaten by the birds. Therefore it's one of the favourite millet sorts.
